True faith makes the promises of God to be of full effect by viewing them as true and putting them to the test. When faith asks of God, it believes that it has the petition which it has asked of him.

 Melisa began writing books and plays as a young child and recognized her connection with a loving and patient God very early in life. She created and published quarterly newsletters for the Texas Youth Commission (Mart campus) and Texas Association of Community Development Corporations.  Over the years she has written for state agencies and nonprofit organizations.  She speaks as an expert in the areas of grant writing, nonprofit start up, juvenile justice, and most importantly, God’s Word.  She is co-owner of Smith & Dunn LLC Creative Writing and Publishing, a Christianity writer for Examiner.com, Executive Director of Open Hearts Open Hands Ministries Inc. and volunteers with Epiphany Youth Prison Ministry. Faith is needed in facing life, trials, and setbacks.

If you could know the truth about successful people, the fact is they failed many more times than they succeeded. They learned from their failures, they found different ways to accomplish their goals, they didn’t give up when it would be easy to.

The same applies to the many victorious Christians that became "pillars of faith". They had their moments of doubt, their moments of discouragement’s, their many setbacks. There key is to never give up on God and move closer to him with faith.

Decisions and Opportunities

Belief, hope,and faith are all you need to receive God's grace. You have been given the opportunity of grace many times. An opportunity for grace doesn't come with any obvious sign. It looks like an ordinary event. But within it is the chance to turn a sin, a choice of selfishness, a lie, or a decision that leads you away from God into a the choice to turn toward God. You have made choices and decisions that leave you regretting them and stressed. Decisions that were out of character and unloving. Your soul was telling you to stop. Very soon after you were offered an opportunity to make it right. Perhaps with consequences, perhaps with embarrassment. But look for these opportunities and accept them as the gift they are.

Actions and Aspirations

Do your actions reflect your aspirations?

Are you “acting as if,” in faith?  Or are you letting other things get in the way?  Are you doing everything you can to be the person you say you want to be right here, right now, in this very moment?  Remember, determine what you want to be and then be that; do what you feel inspired to do; and you will have everything you want to have.  If you truly believe that your desire is possible, if you believe God and believe in His Word, AND if you believe that all things are possible, your actions will reflect that belief.  You will no longer speak unkind things and you will guide your thoughts and develop the ability to focus on your true desires.  Once you accomplish this, the world is your oyster.  Wouldn’t that be worth it?
